Hey - I know you were using the Glaze engine for a while (one of the few!). Anyway I'm picking up development again. Going to add all the other joints/motors etc that are missing + update for fp10 where required.

The main reason is to build a game engine around it supporting massive worlds.

Mail me if your interested in working on something, you had some interesting ideas in you blog.

Of course I'm super curious to see someone else's ideas on path finding with ray casting! And thanks for the heads up on the black text! Seems to not be a problem in firefox - which is why I missed it.

I've had some great ideas for path finding with ray casting. Please email me if you're still interested. I keep getting distracted with other things but really want to work on it.

Note* the background for this textbox is black (just like the text), so it is not very easy to see! I had to change the color with firebug (local change only don't worry).

The code is probably not appropriate for your purposes. It is undocumented and dependent on the ray casting available in the also undocumented <a href="http://code.google.com/p/glaze/" rel="nofollow">glaze physics engine</a>. It does not make much sense to try to use it outside of the context of my sandbox.
It’s a novel approach to a path finding problem, but not necessarily a good one, I recommend you look into A* and navigation meshes.

It just occurred to me that you might not be talking about the code for the path finding algorithm, but the code for the whole game. The game engine is still in active development and the source may eventually be released with some documentation. Check back at my blog every few months and see!
I don’t think the code as it is now would be of much use to someone just starting with flash unless they are already an experienced programmer in some other language.

You might want to look at <a href="http://flixel.org" rel="nofollow">Flixel</a> if you need a game engine, it looks pretty cool and has documentation and a support forum.

If you feel there is something unique to my game in progress that cannot be found in a more supported engine, then describe your project to me and I'll consider sharing what I've got so far.

Thanks for your interest, and have fun!

Sarah, Please describe your problem in a little more detail. How are you using the slideshow? Are you having difficulty with configuring it for the pods plugin for wordpress?
